- What’s crazy in one season will be counted as faith in the other
- The problem is that most people don’t have faith but an idea of faith
Crazy Faith Definition
- Crazy: Not mentally sound; marked by thoughts or actions that lack reason. Insane, impractical, erratic; being out of the ordinary; unusual
- When you follow God, some of the things He may ask you to do may sound crazy
- Faith: Trusting in something you cannot explicitly prove
- The facts that we want erodes the faith that we need; God can show you the path and not the mountaintop or vice versa, but He wants us to trust Him to get to that eventual place
- Crazy Faith: Thoughts or actions that lack reason but trusting fully in what you cannot explicitly prove
- Hebrews 11:1 (NIV): Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
- Relationship Between Hope and Faith: Faith is rooted in hope and hope is the gasoline that fuels faith
- Faith works in reverse; whatever you have hope for, you’re building confidence in.
- Hebrews 11:1 (NIV): Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
Formula of Faith: Intellectual Agreement + Trust = Faith
- Intellectual Agreement: Believing something to be true
- Trust: Actually relying on the fact that something is true
- Many people can say that they believe in Jesus being God (Intellectual Agreement) but few will put weight on it (Trust)
- EX.) You know that a small chair can hold you as much as a bigger chair, but you put more weight in the larger chair than the smaller chair
- EX.) Not following God’s will because we chose to believe and put weight on our own plans
- Faith isn’t only believing in God, but also believing and trusting God’s will in your life
- Many people can say that they believe in Jesus being God (Intellectual Agreement) but few will put weight on it (Trust)
Faith is not (a) foundation. Faith is (the) foundation
- A lot of people don’t study faith and pray to God to help them understand it, and that’s where the enemy attacks
- You cannot be saved without faith
- John 3:16: For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
- You cannot pray without faith
- Matthew 21:22: You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.
- When you don’t pray continuously, you didn’t pray, you wished
- Faith is:
- The confidence in who God is
- The hope for what God has for you
- The assurance in what God did He will do again
- We have to put our whole weight in what God has for us. Live your life on the limb for God!
- You cannot be saved without faith
